Prawn tikka malai

Ingredients

To marinate  ( 1 – 4 ingredients )

  1. jumbo prawns deveined and cleaned – 200gms
  2. Lemon – ½
  3. Salt – ½ tsp
  4. Chili powder – ½
  5. Onions chopped – 2
  6. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  7. Tomato puree – 1 tomato
  8. Chili powder – ½ tsp
  9. Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
  10. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  11. Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
  12. Garam masala – ½ tsp
  13. Curd – ½ cup
  14. Coconut milk ( thick ) – ½ cup
  15. Oil – 3-4 tbspoon
  16. Salt – to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate prawn with lemon juice, salt, chilli powder ( 2-4 ingredients ) . Keep aside for half an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, spread marinated prawns and shallow fry, flip once to cook both the sides. Keep aside in another bowl.
  3. In the same pan, take 2 Tbsp oil and add cumin seeds, to sputter, add chopped onions and saute until onions turn brown. Add ginger garlic paste. Saute for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add tomato puree , cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes, until mixture thickens
  5. Add chili powder, turmeric powder, salt mix well
  6. Add curd and sauté for a few minutes.
  7. Add cooked prawns, garam masala, cook for 5 minutes. Until oil comes out.
  8. Finally add thick coconut milk. Serve with rice or fresh made naan.
