Malai paneer tikka

An Indian starter made from cottage cheese (paneer) cubes marinated with yogurt, cream, and spices, then grilled or baked.

Ingredients

  1. Paneer – 500 gms (  cut into thin rectangles – depends on the skewer )
  2. Capsicum cubed – 1 large
  3. Onion cubed – 1 large
  4. Tomato cubed – 2 large ( remove the soft inside )
  5. Cream – 1 cup
  6. Curd – 4tb sp
  7. Cashew nut powder – 10-12 nuts
  8. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  9. Green chilly chopped – 2
  10. Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
  11. Cardamom – 5
  12. Black pepper – 10-12
  13. Coriander leaves chopped – 2 tbsp
  14. Roasted basan – 2 tsp
  15. Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  16. Sugar / honey – ½ tsp
  17. Salt – to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind 5- 16 ingredients together
  2. Marinate the paneer pieces with this marinade and keep aside in the fridge for an hour .
  3. You may marinate the vegetables also with this marinade and keep them separate in the fridge. ( you can grill the vegetables without marinate also – this will give a nice contrasting colour for your grill )
  4. Skewer 4 pieces of paneer alternate with capsicum, onion and tomato.
  5. Cook in a barbecue or on a grill or even on a tawa by rotating the skewer in between, till paneer gets golden spots.
