Roti rolls baked in cheesy sauce

This is my version of Lasagne using leftover chapatis/ rotis.

Ingredients

For filling

  1. Roti ( chapatti) – 10 -12 ( you may use leftover roti, not fresh one)
  2. Minced meat – 500gms
  3. Onion chopped – 1 large
  4. Garlic – 4-5
  5. Chili flakes – 2tsp
  6. Cinnamon powder – 1 tsp
  7. Pepper crushed – ¼  tsp
  8. Tomato chopped – 2 large
  9. Coriander leaves chopped – a few ( optional)
  10. Mint leaves – a few ( optional)
  11. Salt – to taste
  12. Oil – 2 -3 tsp

For the cheesy sauce

  1. Butter – 1 tbspoon
  2. Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  3. Milk – 11/2 cup
  4. Cinnamon powder – ½ tsp
  5. Pepper crushed – ¼ tsp
  6. Cheese grated – 250 gms
  7. Mint leaves – a few
  8. Salt – to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions and garlic, sauté till they become tender.
  2. Add minced meat, mix well with the onion, add chili flakes, cinnamon powder, pepper and salt, cook well by stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
  3. Add chopped tomato to it and cook well by stirring occasionally, let the mixture dry completely. Add all the chopped leaves, mix well. Keep aside.
  4. In another pan melt butter, keep on slow fire, add corn flour to it and stir well continually till the aroma comes out of corn flour. Add milk, stir continually on the same slow fire till the mixture becomes thick. Add half of grated cheese into the milk mixture, off the flame, add cinnamon, pepper and salt. Mix well. Keep aside.
  5. Divide the meat mixture into 12portions, Take one roti/chapati and spread one portion of the meat mixture evenly on the chapati and then sprinkle some cheese all over it. Now gently roll it up. Repeat the method for making all rolls of the remaining rotis. Cut the rotis into halves.
  6. Grease a baking tray/ glass ware with little oil, spread the rotis evenly in it evenly. If any minced meat mixture is remaining spread the mixture on the rotis. Add the cheese sauce on the top evenly. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese and mint leaves on the top. Bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes. Or at the pizza settings of the microwave for 20 minutes.
